I'm back...again. This time with a fiance & a puppy.

Me again.

I'm still here. Boy, have I had a year. (This is not going to be a poem. That was a coincidence).

I finished grad school, got a new job, and, as you probably know because you likely clicked through to this blog from my social media and/or you're my mom, I'm getting married in December.

And my fiance, Jordan, and I got a puppy.

And we moved across the river to Alexandria, Virginia where we're renting a town home and do things like trim hedges and hire gutter cleaners.

See, do I win for life updates or what?

I keep getting asked (hi mom) about the blog and if it's coming back, so I've been thinking about it. I mull it over. Then, I get distracted by things like drinking wine on the deck and I stop thinking about it. But now I'm on a wedding diet and I don't have as many happy hours and so I'm thinking about it again.

I make no promises on how many posts I'll write  that's what 2016 Lindsay did and we all saw how well that panned out  but, if the last 12 months are any indication, life moves fast, so it would be nice to have this place to capture my random musings as these big (and little) life milestones occur. That's how blogs started didn't they  as online diaries?

Also, posting 27 pictures a day of our puppy, Norman, on Instagram and Facebook apparently isn't enough.

Plus,  Jordan sometimes has work events at night and Norman just wants to sleep on my lap, so I need something to bide my time besides binge-watching 90s sitcoms.

So, for those reasons, the blog is coming back. Also because I just paid to renew the domain name and, with a wedding and honeymoon on the horizon, I can't be wasting $10 on a dead blog.

Now, let's not call this a relaunch or anything fancy like that. This blog isn't one of those lifestyle blogs off which I hope to make money and influence strangers and have people send me free stuff. I mean, I love money and swag, so those things are clearly welcome. But I'll likely not put in the effort, nor have the pithy content, trendsetting acumen, or inspiring photography it takes to make that happen.

Though, let it be known, my bar for swag is very low. I make Jordan bring me free pens from conferences because cheap, branded pens are my favorite. The cheaper, the better. In college, I used a free pen from a funeral home that I found in Starbucks for three semesters. Nothing better than a five cent BIC, am I right?

I'm already off topic.

Clearly this blog can no longer be about me moving to DC or discovering the city or balancing work and school. It's just a place for me to write thoughts on things I love and think and want and see.

And also Norman. Probably mostly Norman.

There won't be recurring series or a clear, defined vision. Ironically, I focus on content strategy and digital planning in my day job, so we'll call this one of those do-as-I-say, not-as-I-do scenarios.

I also realize this means the blog name should change. But, I'm still in the "greater DC area" so that totally counts, right?

"NC Meets Marriage and Puppy and Suburbs" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

To prove my commitment to bringing back the blog, here's a new post.
